    Agreed. They constantly hear negatives throughout their day and recognizing... then 'reinforcing the positives' makes for a happier household.

    One example that I practice with my family to help "reinforce the positive" is to have a dedicated "Accomplishment Wall". It is right in our living room that directly faces our Dining Room (which is convenient for a conversation starter at dinner). This wall is covered with the WHOLE family's accomplishments! Including report cards, drawings, awards, medals, notes from teachers (email's from boss), etc.

    Every year, before school starts we (usually my daughter and I as my son doesn't really care much for arts and crafts) create a poster board that has a theme that we want to focus on for the year. The first year was "I can do it" the next was "Never Say Never".

    It wont be in Atlanta Homes magazine, but hopefully, it will be imprinted on their hearts and minds and eventually recycle the idea into their future, with their kids.
